About LeilUna Collection

British born model Leilani Dowding and designer Una Malan crossed paths in Los Angeles in 2007. As destiny had it, they quickly became best friends and their passion for beauty inspired them to create their line of beautifully fitting, versatile dresses, LeilUna Collection.

“All of our dresses are extremely sexy, yet incredibly comfortable and easy to wear.  It’s all about the cut and the way the fabric drapes – that makes all the difference” say the girls, who are quite often found on the Red Carpet or at Black Tie Hollywood events.

Part of the ingenious practicality of the collection is that the pieces are ideal for women who have to look like stars at a moments notice.  Zipping around the world, both Leilani and Una have to deal with packing light and being able to look like superstars upon arrival to their destinations. LeilUna dresses, which come in a variety of colors in matte and sparkly stretch jersey, not only pack tightly and easily into your suitcase, many of them can also be worn as tops over leggings and jeans, adding many more style options without taking up hardly any space at all!  The designs can be dressed up for a special event or dressed down for the daytime or a more casual dinner with a special friend. LeilUna Collection has graced two of the biggest music awards shows in the US and UK, having been worn to the Grammy’s and the Brit Awards.  Their show stopping styles make women look nothing less than sensational.

“We create dresses that we really love and want to wear ourselves.  We want to be able to grab any of them from our wardrobe and know that it’s going to look amazing, without having to try too hard”. While all of the pieces are stunning, Leilani and Una both agree on one thing “Our Classic Backless Dress is our absolute, go to, cannot be without staple for any evening or event occasion.  It is our signature piece and we always have to check with each other before going out, so that we are not wearing the same one!”.

LeilUna Collection is a must for a woman who is a smart, savvy shopper and wants to look sexy and beautiful when glamour calls!

The collection can also be found in boutiques in California, Florida, New York and London, UK.

11 Aug alexis-bellino-talks-fashion

From the O.C. to MIA. Real Housewives of Orange County star and ascendant fashion designer Alexis Bellino took her talents to South Beach last weekend to promote her new dress lines, Alexis Couture and Alexis Casual.

Chatting with the Miami New Times — who described her lines as “as a smorgasbord of something you’d find at Cache, Forever 21, and the Disney Store” — Alexis dished about what drew her into reality TV, and where she’s hoping it will take her. “You know you’re not on a reality show to be on a reality show,” she told the paper. “You’re on it to use it as a platform and to meet people… I’m interested in getting into hosting. I’ve done a few pageants in the last year and I’m doing hosting for different organizations and for pageants now. Hosting a pageant is so much fun. I’d love to host Dancing with the Stars.”

It was Alexis’ first trip to Miami, but she reportedly hit the town like a native, dining at the Forge and Meat Market, and visiting the club LIV. Read More Housewives……

Embrace The Summer Season With Simple Stylish Hair Options And Pretty Summer Dresses

4 Jul Spring And Summer Hair And Dress Styles-500394

1. A Side of Glamour Girl: Take a cue from stylist Jordan M.’s look at the Alexander Berardi spring ’11 show and pull loose waves into an easy, breezy take on the low pony—just sweep it to the side. A delicate, lacy dress rounds out the romantic, Brigitte Bardot-inspired vibe.

The Hair: The side pony at Alexander Berardi spring ’11. Image courtesy of Bumble and bumble.

The Dress: Asos Salon Lace Shift Dress, $258.59, available at Asos.

The Products: Bumble and bumble Thickening Hairspray, $26, available at Bumble and bumble; Sedu Revolution Clipless Curling Iron, $199.99, available at

2. Parisian Prep: Add some volume at the crown and a sleek headband for a modern take on a ’60s ponytail. Blow-dry gel keeps hair soft and frizz-free, and a touch of hairspray locks the style in place. Since the look is simple, choose a dress with a vibrant pattern.

The Dress: BCBG Taja Printed Strapless Minidress, $238, available at BCBG.

The Products: Redken Velvet Gelatine 07 Cushioning Blow-Dry Gel, $17, visit Redken for locations; L. Erickson USA Ultra Comfort Headband Silk Shantung in Noir, $24, available at France Luxe.

3. Braided Beauty: For the hottest days (and nights), this French braid-bun combo gets your hair completely out of the way while mixing a little edge with elegance. Plus, it’s a perfect style for second-day hair, and it works with bangs, too. (Just start the braids closer to the hairline to incorporate shorter bangs.) Pair it with a patterned dress for an extra dose of the wild side.

The Hair: Braids at Nanette Lepore fall ’11. Image courtesy of Moroccanoil.

The Dress: Marc by Marc Jacobs Printed Silk Dress, $280, available at Net-A-Porter.

The Products: Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray, $21, visit Moroccanoil for salons; Oscar Blandi Pronto Instant Glossing Cream, $19, available at Sephora.

4. Flower Girl: We love a good hair accessory, but really the only acceptable time to rock a flower is in the summer, or at a wedding. So, follow Marc Jacobs’ ’70s glam lead and go with sexy volume and a flower tucked behind the ear. Keep the focus on the hair and pick a simple ensemble with clean lines—feel free to amp up the disco feel with a one-shoulder dress.

The Dress: J.Crew Toga Dress, $150, available at J.Crew.

The Products: Goody English Rose Clips, $5.49 each, available at Target; Tigi Catwalk Root Boost Spray Mousse, $14.95, available at Tigi; L. Erickson USA Silk Charmeuse Confetti Flower Clip in Shoal, $198, available at France Luxe.

5. Updated Beach Hair: Without a doubt, textured beach hair is the style of the summer. Take the look one step further—and help keep your hair off your face—with a side swoop anchored with a small, fishtail braid. (You can add a beach spray to damp hair and air-dry, or spray on dry hair for a dose of texture). A flowy maxi-dress rounds out the beachy, boho aesthetic.

The Hair: Beachy, swooped, and braided at Rodarte fall ’11. Image courtesy of Aveda.

The Dress: Calypso Embroidered Maxi Dress, $375, available at Calypso St. Barth.

The Products: Aveda Phomollient Styling Foam, $15, available at Aveda; Oliver Ifergan Atelier Day At The Beach Sea Spray, $24.77, available at Oliver Ifergan.

6. Your High-ness: A high, sleek ponytail meets the classic braid is a quick and easy, warm weather-approved ‘do. The tricks to getting that height? Stylist Rodney Cutler recommends blow-drying roots away from the face in a slightly upward direction and securing hair with a bungee cord to keep it in place.  And make sure to balance out the intensity of the pulled-back look with a brightly colored maxi-dress.

The Hair: A high, sleek braid at Carlos Miele fall ’11. Images by Adam Lerner for Cutler.

The Dress: Nicole Miller Water Washed Georgette Strapless Gown, $106, available at Nicole Miller.

The Products: Cutler Volumizing Spray, $21, available at Cutler; Ricky’s Bungee Invispin, $4.99, available at RickysNYC.

Summary: During the summer season it’s pretty natural to want to wear a light pretty dress every day of the week. It’s nice to embrace the beautiful weather while it lasts.

For women with longer hair, there are options other than the go-to ponytail or banana clip for a simple summer hairstyle – one that keeps your hair out of your face, is low-maintenance and still looks stylish despite the havoc the Valley’s harsh climate can cause.

Not only are these styles easy, they rely on imperfection and messiness as key elements. Whether you want your hair down and wavy or up and out of the way, there is a style that could work for your next summer soiree.

Prince Albert II Married Olympic Swimmer Charlene Wittsotck Of South Africa

2 Jul Prince-Albert-Marries-Charlene-Wittstock-103949

A day after their civil wedding, Prince Albert has married the former Olympic swimmer Charlene Wittstock in a Catholic ceremony in Monaco.

As Charlene Wittstock swept along the red carpet on her father’s arm. In her sumptuous boat neck gown by Giorgio Armani Prive, her hair pulled back in a swirling French twist and with only the lightest touch of makeup, she seemed to channel the effortless elegance of Grace Kelly.

But while Princess Grace turned to Hollywood’s MGM studio for her wedding gown, Princess Charlene opted for one of her longtime favorite designers, Armani, for Saturday’s wedding gown.

The “petites mains” or seamstresses of his haute couture atelier put more than 2,500 hours of work into the dress, a strong-lined, made-to-measure concoction of more than 140 yards of different silks, 40,000 Swarovski crystals and 20,000 mother of pearl beads.

The six-yard-long train. which dwarfed the demure little train at the summer’s other royal wedding (that of Britain’s Prince William and Kate Middleton), proved difficult to negotiate. At one point, Charlene got stuck and Albert had to tug at the long silk flourish to free her.

At the dinner that followed the religious service, the princess wore another Armani creation – a white silk chiffon gown with a broad neckline and embroidered four-tier train.

For Friday’s civil ceremony, the princess wore a silken blue jacket with ankle-length palazzo pants, an outfit press handlers said she designed herself and that was made by famed fashion house Chanel. For the evening’s light-and-sound show, she wore a strapless blue gown with a flowing skirt and a statement necklace.

It is reported that she will be turning to a third fashion house- Christian Dior – for the outfit she will wear to Sunday’s brunch, the last of the wedding events.

Halle Berry Flaunts Toned Abs In Sexy Black Halston Dress

27 May Halle-Berry-Fifi-Awards-103949

Photos By: Andrew H. Walker/Getty

Halle Berry turned up at 2011 FiFi Awards, held at The Tent at Lincoln Center on May 25 in New York City. 44-year-old Pixie haired actress Halle was one of the FiFi Awards Honoree and she dared to bare in a sexy Halston Spring 2011 little black dress.

The Oscar-winning actress received the ‘Fragrance Celebrity of the Year Award’ for her popular range of self-titled perfumes. Halle’s three perfumes include Halle by Halle Berry, Pure Orchid and Reveal.

At 2011 FiFi Awards, she looked nothing less than super hot in a sexy one shoulder asymmetric dress featuring daring cut-outs accessorized with bold gold hoop earrings and a cocktail ring. Metallic accent on the dress made it all the more eye catchy.

Halle’s dress flaunted her toned abs and endless legs, quite well. Amping up her look was flawless makeup, chic black clutch and strappy sandals.

Bridal Fashion: Shala Moradi Bridal Designer Copys Royal Wedding Gown

8 May Royal-Wedding-Knockoff-293848

Shala Moradi, lead designer at Faviana fashion house, positions a finished copy of the royal wedding gown worn by Kate Middleton. The gown, labeled “Princess Kate,” made in satin with chiffon French lace, is joined by other Faviana knockoffs, including Middleton’s maid of honor dress, left, and her second wedding gown, right. Picture: AP

Kate Middleton’s bridal gown won’t be hers alone for long.

The minute the princess-to-be arrives at the steps of Westminster Abbey, a designer watching the royal wedding on TV on Long Island will put pen to paper and begin a mad scramble to knock off the dress-seen-round-the-world for sale to the masses.

The ceremony will still be in full swing as Shala Moradi — head designer of the Garment District dressmaker Faviana — sets in motion the frantic job of getting their version of the gown to stores within weeks. It’s a grueling process.

Moradi’s alarm will buzz at 4 a.m. Friday, the day of the wedding. She’ll grab a cup of tea, and watch television while still in her bathrobe — anxious for that crucial first glimpse when Middleton steps out of her Rolls-Royce Phantom to enter the church.

Shala Moradi image Daniel Shapiro

“I don’t get nervous. But it’s a little bit of pressure with the timing,” said Moradi, who has designed spinoffs of must-have dresses everywhere, from the Oscars to Chelsea Clinton’s wedding.

First, she’ll figure out two crucial details — fabric choice and silhouette.

After making a rough sketch at home, it’s off to Faviana’s 17th-floor showroom on Seventh Avenue, via the Long Island Rail Road, to begin making a sample.

During the commute, Moradi will be fielding calls from her assistants, pattern makers and marketing team.

Her two sons, who work in the family business, will sit next to her on the train, pulling up by-the-minute Middleton pics on their iPads to get a close look at the design elements of her gown.

Once at work, employees will be dispatched all over the Garment District to buy the fabric, beading, trims, and any necessary materials to make the dress.

Their version will likely cost less than $2,000 and will be sold online and in department stores.

“When it’s a special event like this, there’s an excitement in the office,” Moradi said.

Her dress won’t be an exact replica of the royal bride’s, whose gown will likely have a huge train — far too fussy for non-princess brides.

By the end of the weekend, Moradi’s company will have all of the details ironed out and a finished sample, which they’ll ship to China for production.

“Depending on the style, it should hit the market within eight weeks,” said her son Navid Moradi, the company’s president.

The dash to get out a dress isn’t unusual for Faviana, who are known for spinning out “inspired dresses” worn by celebs such as Angelina Jolie and Taylor Swift.

But the demand and the rush for a Middleton lookalike gown beats anything in recent history.

“This is going to exceed by far any order that we’ve done,” said Navid Moradi.

Celebrity Style: Beyonce Knowles Wears Black Sequined Pucci Dress

3 May Singer-Beyonce-Pucci-dress-Met-Gala-100394

Beyonce Knowles and Jay-Z have found themselves getting booed on the red carpet. The “Halo” singer and her music mogul husband attended this year’s Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on Monday night, May 2, and upset photographers when they failed to pose for pictures.

Reporting the incident was The Cut. The New York Fashion Magazine’s fashion blog first tweeted, “OMG Beyonce and Jay-Z are being BOOED at the #MetGala for not posing for pictures! Yes, boo!” In another tweet, it was explained, “Beyonce’s Pucci dress was so tight she could barely walk up the stairs as she failed to stop for the photographers. #MetGala”.

The 29-year-old wore an extremely form-fitting Pucci gown which had gold embroidery and jet paillettes to the event held to celebrate the Wednesday (May 4) opening of the “Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty” exhibition. USA Today Style, additionally, posted a video of the booing along with a caption that read, “This carpet seems crazier than the Oscars! Who boos Beyonce??”

Beyonce and her husband Jigga apparently weren’t the only one feeling the wrath of the photographers. The photogs reportedly directed their agitation toward her younger sister Solange Knowles as well. “After the photogs loudly booed Beyonce for not posing, Solange arrived and they shouted, ‘Don’t shoot her. She can tell her sister.’#MetGala,” tweeted The Cut.
