Actress Megan Fox Posted A Series Of Photos On Facebook Proving She Doesn’t Use Botox

8 Jul Megan-Fox-Proves-She-Doesnt-Use-Botox-402939

Megan Fox has just posted a series of photographs on her Facebook fan page in order to prove once and for all, she doesn’t use Botox.

In an album titled, “THINGS YOU CAN’T DO WITH YOUR FACE WHEN YOU HAVE BOTOX“, the actress makes several funny faces, displaying her skin’s superior flexibility.

This should prove everything.

In the same issue she also advised against plastic surgery. “I would encourage anyone to first speak with a therapist. To try and figure out where this want comes from, because a lot of times it’s not related to your teeth or your nose or your chin, the surgery is not going to alleviate that insecurity for you.”

Papaya Facial Mask Minimize’s Wrinkles Making You Look Younger

7 Jun Papaya-Facial-Masks-103838

Papaya is a tropical fruit, sweet and aromatic, and what is best, is extremely rich in vitamin A and contains a good amount of vitamin B5. Both vitamins are deeply related to the hydration of the skin and hair pigmentation. When you apply a mask of papaya, the fruit helps the cleansing and moisturizing your skin in depth. To prepare a face mask at home, just put in the blender a piece of papaya pulp and add 2 or 3 tablespoons of honey. The bats well until a smooth paste and apply it on face for 20 minutes. Then rinse with warm water and repeat this process once a week.

Unfortunately, not all of us have the funds for a fancy facial or a store-bought facial mask to help alleviate the visual signs of stress. Lucky for you though, we dug up a homemade facial mask recipe from Daisy Tang, founder of Aspara Aromatics, and it’s not just any ol’ home facial mask, but a papaya facial mask (yup, we’ve gone tropical on you). Papaya has enzymes in it similar to alpha hydroxy acid, which helps minimize wrinkles, and in turn will make you look less stressed. To boot, while you apply this facial mask, you can close your eyes and pretend you’re on an island somewhere far, far away from life’s craziness.

In addition to being wallet-friendly, this homemade facial mask is super easy to make. In fact, it only involves three ingredients: oatmeal, honey and — wait for it — papaya. You most likely have the first two in your pantry, right? So all you need to do is pick up the latter from your local market.

Here’s how to make a homemade facial mask:

Papaya Homemade Facial Mask Ingredients:

3 tablespoons of blended papaya

1/3 cup oatmeal

1 tablespoon honey

Directions: Mix all of the ingredients together. Spread mask all over your face and leave on for 10 minutes. Then, rinse off the homemade mask with warm water.

Update Your Daily Beauty Routine For Spring And Summer Months

13 May Spring-Beauty-routine

Now that the last traces of winter are gone for good, you can pack away your cold-weather beauty regimen too (well, at least for the next six months!). Warmer temps and the changes in climate call for a few tweaks to your daily routine. Here, advice from the pros for updating your skin, hair and makeup to welcome the season.

Hydrate Strands

Rescue your winter-parched hair from months of bouncing back and forth between icy outdoor air and drying indoor heat, says Matrix artistic director Nick Stenson, owner of Chicago’s Caviar Salon. A conditioning mask can rejuvenate dry hair by restoring shine and vitality, says Stenson. Try Oscar Blandi Trattamento di Jasmine Smoothing Hair Treatment ($26; OscarBlandi.com). It repairs damaged hair by delivering intense moisture, resulting in a silky-soft and shiny mane.
Trim Your Tresses

Even if you’re not ready for a whole new ’do, a good trim can bring your hairstyle back to life, says Stenson. “On average, hair grows at a rate of about a half-inch per month. That winter outgrowth has been subjected to regular wear and tear as well as the ravages of wind and changing weather,” he says. Getting rid of that last inch or so will make your mane look healthier and fuller. Use a product like MATRIX Sleek.look Sealing Serum ($15; Matrix.com for salon locations) to protect against future damage without weighing hair down.

Brighten Up Your Locks

After months of gray days, “mimic what the sun does naturally by adding dimensional highlights to your hair,” says Stenson. “Even a few well-placed foils around the face will brighten up your complexion and accentuate eyes and cheekbones,” he says. If you’re a bit shy about color, ask your stylist to try a demi-permanent color, which is ammonia-free and gentler on your hair, to add subtle tones. Or try an at-home highlighting kit, like L’Oréal Paris Touch-On Highlights ($12.99; Drugstore.com). It comes with a small fine-tooth plastic brush that fits right on your fingertip, so you can easily control where you put the highlighting mixture.

Give Your Hair a Chance to Breathe

Stop fighting the weather and let your hair dry naturally, says stylist and curl expert Ouidad. “When you let your hair air-dry, the scalp’s natural oils have a chance to penetrate strands to help nourish any damage caused by hot tools,” she says. But when it gets warmer, there’s more humidity in the air, which means more frizz. The best way to control curly or coarse hair that dries au naturel is to use a product that repels humidity, like Ouidad Climate Control Heat & Humidity Gel ($19.80; Ouidad.com). The formula blocks out excess humidity that creates frizz and flyaways by protecting the hair shaft and preventing strands from expanding.

Create a Lighter Canvas

Just as you change your wardrobe for warmer weather, your skin needs a lighter coating of makeup too, says celebrity makeup artist Jackie Gomez, whose clients include Beyoncé and Marisa Miller. Instead of sticking with foundation, which is great for winter months but too heavy for springtime, add a tinted moisturizer to your daily routine. “These formulas are sheer but still hydrating enough to provide your skin with an even tone and fresh look,” says Gomez. “They balance your complexion and make you look dewy rather than cakey or greasy,” she says. Try Aveeno Positively Radiant Tinted Moisturizer SPF 30 ($14.99; Drugstore.com). It’s made with light diffusers that brighten and smooth your skin tone.

Get a Creamy Flush

Cream blushes tend to last longer than powder formulas when your skin gets warmer, says Gomez. A brighter color, like a pop of pink or peach on the apples of your cheeks, “will make you look more fresh and youthful,” she says. Try Laura Geller Air Whipped Mousse Cheek Color ($26; QVC.com). It’s sheer, lightweight, loaded with vitamins A, C and E, and all you need to do is swipe it on your cheeks with your fingertips.

Go for Gilded Shades

Bronze and gold hues in eyeshadow, lipgloss and bronzer are flattering on every skin tone, says Gomez. The beauty of these shades is that they evoke the look of a tan without your having to step out in the sun. Nervous about the shimmery shades? Gold shadow doesn’t have to be bold. If you wear a subtle swipe across the lid, it can be sophisticated enough for the office. Try Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Custom Bronzer, Blush and Eyeshadow in Vegas Strip ($11.99; Drugstore.com). It has everything you need for a pretty look in one compact.

Slough Away Dead Skin

Spring is the perfect time to get rid of dull winter skin and increase cell turnover to make way for a fresh, radiant complexion, says Heather Woolery-Lloyd, MD, director of Ethnic Skin Care at the University of Miami. Gently exfoliate the skin with a product that’s not too harsh or irritating. Try Specific Beauty Exfoliating Cleansing Cloths ($6.99; SpecificBeauty.com). They contain aloe, green tea and vitamin E, and have textured beads on one side to gingerly exfoliate and rejuvenate your skin.

Forgo Heavy Face Cream

Switch from a heavy winter face cream to a lighter lotion so you don’t clog pores in warmer weather, says Dr. Woolery-Lloyd. Since the temperature is more humid, you won’t have to worry about your complexion getting as dry. Try Neutrogena Healthy Defense Liquid Moisturizer SPF 50 with Helioplex ($14; Neutrogena.com). This lightweight daily moisturizer is noncomedogenic, so it won’t cause breakouts, and it provides a broad-spectrum sunscreen to protect your skin from harsh UVA and UVB rays.

Clean Your Skin More Thoroughly

As the mercury rises, your skin naturally produces more oil. This means you’ll need to cleanse away sweat and grime more deeply than you would in the winter, says Dr. Woolery-Lloyd. Skin can handle a more penetrating cleaning in spring and summer because there’s more humidity in the air, so your complexion is less likely to dry out. Try Clean & Clear Advantage 3-in-1 Foaming Acne Wash ($6.49; Drugstore.com). Ingredients like salicylic acid help prevent future breakouts while a special complex dissolves surface oil.

Nivea Celebrates 100 Years Global Campaign With Singer Rihanna

13 May Nivea-Turns-100-103203A

Beiersdorf will look to capitalize on Nivea’s heritage, while using one of the hottest young performers, in an estimated $1.4 billion global campaign for the skin care line that is turning 100. The campaign begins May 15.

The TV and print components will begin with a focus on the well-known cream in the blue tin, which will be followed by spots and pages for other products in the portfolio. Rihanna’s single “California King Bed” will be the soundtrack of the 100th anniversary effort.

Contests to win tickets to her concerts — Nivea is sponsoring her U.S. and European tours — will be staged on the Web and in retail stores. Products purchased in 40-plus countries will offer a code to download Rihanna music on the Nivea Web site.

A Nivea bus will accompany the Rihanna tour, as will a local blogger.

Facebook and YouTube will be deployed to piggyback off Rihanna’s popularity, where one option is to integrate oneself in a Rihanna video via the Nivea Facebook page. About $100 million of the budget will be used in the digital realm.

Markus Pinger, a Beiersdorf board member who oversees the brands, stated that “people only feel comfortable in their skin if they are happy about the way they look.” Only about 10% of women worldwide have that confidence, according to research.

Last November, Draftfcb was named Beiersdorf’s sole global agency for its entire brand portfolio.

Skincare: Keeping Skin Clear From Summer Breakouts

11 May Summer-Breakouts-Skincare-102330

by Jessica Smith, REDBOOK

Going to the gym, talking on your cell phone and touching your face mindlessly can take a toll on your skin and now combined with warmer temperatures, you may find yourself fighting breakouts more than during the winter months.

We asked esthetician Lauren Braha, owner of Le Petit Skin Retreat in Miami, Florida, for a few easy tips on how to have clear skin, all year round:

1) Use hydrogen peroxide like a toner. “It kills the bacteria, which is in essence what causes breakouts,” says Braha. Hydrogen peroxide works best, as opposed to alcohol that will only dry out your skin, not disinfect it. Use it after a sweaty workout or a long cell phone conversation to kill anything that might be creeping into your pores.

2) Wash, rinse and repeat. Especially if you have oily skin or wear a lot of makeup in warmer months, you need to be washing your face twice. “The first time you use a cleanser it doesn’t cut through the oil”, says Braha. “The second time you wash, you will get under the first layer and, if you are using a glycolic or salicylic acid wash, allow the ingredients a chance to work on your skin.”

3) Exfoliate! Braha says everyone knows this already (But do we do it?). You may know about exfoliation, but here is why it’s so important: Exfoliating your skin takes off all the dead skin cells that are blocking your pores (translation: causing your breakouts). She advises exfoliation one to three time per week, depending on your skin type, and the strength of the exfoliator. We love the Neutrogena Wave for nightly use as a deep cleanser and exfoliator ($9.99, CVS).
