Hilary Swank has a new title–aside from Academy Award winner. Soon she will also be known as a fashion designer.

Swank will be launching an athletic clothing line with DMA, Designers Management Agency.

Sort of random, right!? Not really! Swank used to actually be a gymnast so clearly; she has a love for sports. And if that’s not enough reason, she played a boxer in a movie as well.

“Our platform is a contemporary, outdoor, athleisure brand,” DMA co-founder Marc Beckman told WWD.

The line was originally only supposed to be t-shirts, but it soon expanded into a full collection.

DMA co-founder Marc Beckman says Swank originally wanted to launch a t-shirt line that “provided motivation and inspiration”. But due to her background as a gymnast, she wanted it to have a more sporty feel.

“Our platform is a contemporary, outdoor, ath-leisure brand,” he added.

The actress and agency will be in talks with designers to work with the star on the collection.

Celebrity/ Newsroom

Summary: These celebrity designers have had a lasting impact on the fashion world (and popular culture) throughout the decades. From classic to eclectic, their distinct styles will always influence the way people dress, and the way new designers approach their work.

I am not totally surprised at all that Hilary would want to design athletic wear. Fitness has been at the top of Hilary Swanks lifestyle for years.

With many celebrities many of them add Fashion Designer to the many other things that they do in their lives.

Of course, there are some stars that have managed to capitalize on their celebrity status with some genuine credibility.
