Lindsay Lohan Visits Jay Leno To Explain Publicized Jail Sentence

While free on bond from a pending 120-day jail sentence, Lindsay Lohan paid a visit to “The Tonight Show” to explain her take on her highly publicized personal problems.

“I think being young and being the position I was in, it was all kind of whirlwind and people make decisions for you,” the embattled film star told late night host Jay Leno, “but I’m not a kid anymore. I’m 24, and I’ve made a lot of mistakes and I recognize that, but I’m in the clear now. I feel like, as long as I stay focused, then I’ll be able to achieve what I want to achieve.”

In the pre-taped Tuesday night appearance, Lohan admitted she was taken aback by the sentence she received for violating her probation by allegedly walking off with a designer necklace. Still, the actress said she’s ready to take responsibility for her all of her troubles.

“Because the case is still pending, I can’t really say much, but I was kind of shocked,” she explained. “We didn’t really expect the kind of outcome to be what it was. But I’m a big girl, and I’m going to do what I’m told to do. That’s what I have to do to continue on with working and my life. I’m taking responsibility.”

Despite being surprised by the court’s decision, Lohan stated, “I think that I was treated the way I should be treated.”

Now Lohan looks forward to putting that treatment behind her. When asked about the future of her career, the actress shared her high hopes.

“Hopefully (I’ll be) sitting here (in six years), after I’ve won an Oscar,” she said. “That would be ideal.”
