Jennifer Aniston started a hairstyle hysteria with “The Rachel”. Since then, millions of women have flocked to salons with her photo in hand. Straight or wavy, short or long, Jennifer Aniston’s famous tresses continue to set trends. Find out how Jen gets those golden sun-kissed locks. Learn how to create her free-flowing curls and and her sleek, sexy look.

You will need

* 1 blow dryer with diffuser

* 1 volumizing nousse (if your hair is fine)

* 1 curling iron

* 1 flat, paddle brush

* 1 blow dryer

* 1 comb

* 1 flat iron

* 1 shine serum

* 1 hairspray (optional)

1.

Step 1: The Color

Jennifer Aniston’s sun-kissed hair color is her signature statement; her style is quite simple. Golden highlights brighten her brunette hair, while beach blonde streaks frame her face. If your hair is a dark blonde to medium brown, you’ve got the perfect base for Jen’s color; simply add a few highlights or a gloss for shine. If yours is a medium brown or darker, you’ll need to lighten your base to a golden brown and then add blonde highlights on top of that.

2.

Step 2: Making Waves

To create Jennifer Aniston’s waves, you’ll need a blow dryer with a diffuser. If your hair is fine, apply volumizing mousse to your hair before blow drying. Using the diffuser, scrunch your hair from the roots to the ends. Hold the blow dryer in place for about five seconds, then remove. You should see waves beginning to form. Continue to work the diffuser through the hair moving toward the crown, until the hair is dry.

3.

Step 3: Defining The Curl

Jennifer Aniston’s hair is full of free-flowing curls. To get this look, use a curling iron with a barrel of an inch to two inches. Hold the curling iron at an angle. Starting about an inch from the ends of the hair, wrap the hair around the barrel, away from the face. Leaving the ends of the hair out of the barrel creates a more natural curl, not a tight ringlet.

4.

Step 4: Loosen Up

America’s favorite friend never looks like she’s trying too hard. Run your hands under your hair and gently tousle the hair at the root. Now you’ve got a look that’s California-chic, just like Jennifer Aniston.

5.

Step 5: Change It Up

What makes Jennifer Aniston’s long layered hair so great is its versatility. She easily transitions from tousled, wavy bed-head to sleek, straight and polished. To get Jen’s straight look, begin by blow drying your hair with a flat paddle brush. Hold the blow dryer at an angle above the brush, as you pull the hair down and away from your scalp. Do not bend the hair with the brush or curl it under, pull the hair straight down.

6.

Step 6: Check Your Layers

When you’re going for a sleek, polished look, you can’t afford split ends or stray hairs. Jennifer Aniston keeps her face framing layers on the A-list with regular trims. Keep your layers clean with trims every two to three months.

7.

Step 7: Flat Iron Finish

Flat iron your hair section by section. Run a comb through your hair, following with the flat iron. This will rid your hair of any knots that could catch in the straightener and damage your hair.

8.

Step 8: Shine & Hold

Celebrities like Jennifer Aniston have stylists who know how to perfect hair with products. Here are two great tricks. Place a bit of shine serum or spray on your hands, then run your palms over the ends of your hair for a brilliant, smooth finish. Then calm any flyaway hairs with this trick – coat your hands well with hairspray, and press down the flyaway hairs. You’ll have sleek hair without stiffness.

Jennifer Aniston Goes Brunette For New Flick ‘Horrible Bosses’

25 May

Whether you like blondes or brunettes, Jennifer Aniston looks good either way.

For the upcoming comedy flick “Horrible Bosses,” Aniston sports a dark ‘do and plays a dentist who sexually harasses a male employee, played by Charlie Day.

Whichever way you prefer, however, don’t expect Jen to keep the dark hair. Her longtime colorist Michael Canale recently told Us magazine she makes dramatic color changes “only for movie roles.”

Of lightening her hair over the years, Canale told, “I began by taking her from a medium brown to a light golden brown with two bright highlights to accent the ‘Rachel’ cut. From that point on we gradually went blonder.”

The actress is reportedly intent on swapping life in California for the Big Apple and is set to ink a deal for two separate one-bedroom units.

The 42-year-old will reportedly combine the apartments into one mega apartment.

Jennifer Aniston is getting friendly with the West Village after all.

After reportedly opting out of a contract to buy a $15 million penthouse at 2 Horatio St., the former “Friends” star is about to close on two separate one-bedroom units on the 17th and 18th floors of a swanky building on W. 12th St., the Daily News has learned.

A West Village real estate source said Aniston is set to close today on the 18th floor apartment, a small penthouse apartment, and then close on the 17th floor unit within days.

The actress plans to combine the apartments into a one large duplex with about 2,700-square-feet of interior space and more than 900-square-feet of outdoor space with a wrap-around terrace on the top floor which features panoramic views of the city.

“She would definitely need more space than one apartment,” said a source close to Aniston. “Her closet alone wouldn’t fit in a one-bedroom.”

“She would definitely need more space than one apartment,” said a source close to Aniston. “Her closet alone wouldn’t fit in a one-bedroom.”

The penthouse, which Aniston bought from celebrity hairstylist Sally Hershberger, was the most expensive of the homes, listed at $5.9 million, the source said.

The 17th floor unit went to contract approximately two weeks ago after being listed at $1.8 million.

Developer Bing & Bing built the apartment house in 1931 by New York City developer Bing & Bing. Renowned local architect Emery Roth designed it.

Stephen Shadley, who decorated Aniston’s Beverly Hills home, said he knows nothing about the deal. None of the listing brokers would comment. Aniston is known for asking for non-disclosure agreements on real estate transactions.

Celebrity Style: Check Out Jennifer Aniston’s New Haircut

17 Apr

The A-list actress stepped out at a photo call for her new movie, Just Go With It, sporting a swinging cut several inches shorter than the signature long layers she’s had for the last several years.

Despite the fact that Aniston’s new hairstyle is bound to garner attention from her fans, she admits the so-called ‘Rachel’ cut of the nineties is something she’d rather forget.

“How do I say this? I think it was the ugliest haircut I’ve ever seen,” she told US Allure magazine. “What I really want to know is, how did that thing have legs?”

The cut was originally created by Aniston’s current hairstylist Chris McMillian, who Aniston jokingly refers to as “the bane of (her) existence” for starting the trend.
