Despite Recent Reports Angelina Jolie Assures Vanity Fair That There Is ‘No Secret Wedding’

30 Aug

Angelina Jolie’s stunningly beautiful face is featured on the cover of the upcoming October 2011 issue of Vanity Fair Magazine. The 36 year-old actress wants to set the record straight, assuring us she is NOT pregnant, NOT secretly married to Brad Pitt, and not adopting at the moment.

Yep, Angie wants to put all those rumors to rest… at least this week. In spite of being a hands-on mother of six, Angelina still had time to write and direct her own movie titled “In the Land Of Blood and Honey”, which will most certainly change the way she will approach future projects as an actress.

“Brad thinks I’m going to be a nightmare,” Angie Jokes.  “I had such a good experience he thinks I’m going to be impatient with directors, which I already am. I get impatient with people working on a film that have their head in their hands like it’s the most complicated thing in the world.”

“I’ve never felt more exposed. My whole career, I’ve hidden behind other people’s words,” Angelina says Cohen of her screenwriting and feature directorial debut. “Now it’s me talking. You feel ridiculous when you get something wrong.”

What prompted a mother of six to write her a script? “I had the flu. I had to be quarantined from the children for two days. I was in the attic of a house in France. I was isolated, pacing. I don’t watch TV and I wasn’t reading anything. So I started writing. I went from the beginning to the end. I didn’t know any other way,” Angie reveals.

When Brad read the script on a trip, he really saw raw talent in his life partner. “He called and said, ‘You know, honey, it’s not that bad.’” Brad is always so supportive. Angelina wanted to see her script come to life, but she didn’t trust anybody else with that job and that’s why she decided it was time to make her directorial debut.

On Brad’s role and support, Angelina says, “He’d come in and say what he liked or what he didn’t understand. Like any woman, I would listen to most of it and fight a few things. He’s been so supportive. But it’s hard to separate the person that loves you from the critic, so I don’t think he’s a fair judge.”

In the Land Of Blood and Honey” is a love story set during the Bosnian War. The movie was shot by local actors in two versions (English, and Bosnian-Croatian-Serbian language known as BCS) and is set to be released in the US on December 23, 2011.

Model: Cindy Crawford & Bryan Randall

She’s clad in pieces from the 2011 fall Louis Vuitton collection: a strappy leather corseted blouse and one of the mini-masks that adorned the hats in the show. In the editorial to match, she’ll apparently be “vamp[ing] it up in lace and leather.” She’s also billed on the cover lines as “the original supermodel” — which means, out there somewhere, Janice Dickinson is giving her some serious side-eye.

17 Aug

Beyoncé is InStyle’s September cover girl! After a nine-month break from touring, we catch up with the superacheiver to talk happiness, sanity, new projects (her album 4 and her perfume Pulse), and running the world. “I sacrificed so much as a kid and as a teenager,” she says. “I have no regrets because my job kept me focused. When you’re young—18 or 19—you have the energy and drive. That’s the time to work as hard as you can. Now I’m a woman, and because I gave it my all, I can focus on my marriage. I can decide I want to have kids. I can be the mother I want to be and dedicate myself to my children.” Though, when she gets down time, she maximizes it. “In my free time I prefer to do nothing but sit on the couch and watch TV,” she says. “I have to confess that my guilty pleasure is Jersey Shore.” And throughout everything, she always makes time for friendship. “I am a girl’s girl. Women In Music: Gwen Stefani Graces Elle Magazine Cover 2011

8 Apr

Gwen Stefani On writing hits: “I do! Why wouldn’t you want that many people listening to the songs that you wrote? There’s no way to go back after you have had it. So the intentions of even the solo records were always about trying to write those guilty-pleasure albums that just get in your head and you can’t get out. I’m not cool, I’m not into the B-sides. Prince, who is one of my idols, gave me some advice when I worked with him: “Have you ever just tried writing a hit? Like, don’t just try writing a song, try and write a hit song.” I remember him saying that and me thinking, Yeah, you’re right. Why would you write anything else?”

On her marriage to Gavin Rossdale: “The first time we ever kissed was right around Valentine’s Day—we were in New Orleans on tour. So, yeah, I always think about that because it’s unbelievable that we’ve been able to stay together. I feel so proud of us—it’s one of my biggest achievements.”

On performing while pregnant: “It was horrible. Certain songs would make me want to puke. You feel pretty gross when you are first pregnant. You don’t feel cute, you feel disgusting. You’re getting fat. It was hard. I mean, I’m very vain. That would be my middle name. Of course I am, you know what I mean? I love the visual.”

On whether Lady Gaga, Rihanna and Katy Perry have taken a page out of her playbook when it comes to style: “Really? I don’t see myself in those girls. I usually put pants on. I see these girls as more going for the sex-symbol thing. I was more, in the band, like a tomboy. Of course, I think every girl is sexy, so there’s going to be a little of that. But I see a lot of younger artists going more toward the sexy thing.”

On pop music: When we were growing up, some of the hits were legendary ones that you hear your whole life. But certain songs, I don’t know if you’ll ever hear them again. Because that’s what that music is, like a guilty pleasure, it’s right at the moment. It’s like fashion—it’s now, then it’s gone.”

Sofia Vergara Covers March Shape Magazine 2011

22 Feb

Sofia Vergara covers the March 2011 issue of Shape Magazine. I joked a few posts back about the magazine running out of bikinis, because they’d put Marisa Miller in a dress too. I guess there’s some kind of crippling bikini shortage (perhaps Sports Illustrated’s Swimsuit Issue had some kind of custom job built out of scraps from the laundry hamper).

Because Shape has decided to put Vergara’s amazing curves in a dress. A not especially nice dress. In a really odd colour that does nothing for her.

You pretty much can’t tell she has a waist, or boobs, or two arms/ hands/ legs for that matter. It’s a pretty oddly-composited shot and there’s not much to like about it. Which is a shame, as I rather like her. That said, she’s being rather repetitive in her interviews again. Talking about being a proud Latina and how that influences a positive body image… blah, blah.

* On being make-up free: ‘If I walk outside without lipstick, I feel naked,’ the actress, 38, tells the March issue of Shape, in which she’s named the sexiest woman in Hollywood.

* On her favourite body part: ‘I’m sure men would tell you it’s my boobs, but I like my eyes,’ she says. ‘They have a natural cats-eye shape, so I try to play that up.’

* Of her frequent workout sessions with trainer Gunnar Peterson: ‘Oh, I hate it. But I also know that at my age, I’m almost 40, I have to do it to maintain my figure. When I can, I try to do Latin dancing for exercise because it’s so much fun and I just love the music. Two hours before I go [to the gym], I’m already wishing it was over. I psychologically fool myself into believing it’s part of my job.’

* On being proud of her age and heritage: ‘I think when women reach a certain age, they look better with a little fat in their face,’ she tells the issue. ‘I’m lucky I’m Latin because people expect me to be a bit more plump.’

* On how Latin women are more confident: ‘Confident people have a way of carrying themselves that makes others more attracted to them,’ she says. ‘Latin women are very comfortable with their bodies and their sexuality. We aren’t afraid to show that off a little bit more.’

* On her family’s approach to beauty: ‘All the women in my family are that way. We put make-up on to give birth. When I started feeling contractions with my son [Manolo, 19], the first thing I did was wash and blow-dry my hair before I went to the hospital. You never know how long you’ll be in labor. It could be days until you’re able to take a shower.’

Angelina Jolie Graces Vogue Winter Issue 2010

12 Nov

Angelina Jolie is on the cover of Vogue’s December 2010 issue, striking a sultry pose, tattoos visible, in a shot photographed by Mario Testino. Inside the magazine, Jolie opens up to Vicki Woods—who is mesmerized by the actresses’ beauty—about, among other things, her personal style.

She is wearing a little cropped jacket by Neil Barrett, who dresses haute Hollywood, classic pants by Helmut Lang, and Ferragamo flats. Black, black, and black.

“As Brad’ll tell you—and my kids—apparently Mommy only wears black,” she says. Because she was a Goth, right? No, she says, it’s utilitarian, it’s practical: “I like to get up so every pair of pants goes with every top, every dress goes with every shoe. I’ve a very tiny closet.

Brad’s always laughing at me. Some days, yes, I have the nightgown that looks like a dress that I can sleep in and pick the kids up at school. And maybe take a meeting if I switch into heels.

What else will you find inside? Notes on cooking for six kids, thoughts on Brad Pitt’s looks, and observations on her globe-trotting family. Plus, a portrait session in which Jolie wears a Colleen Atwood custom corset with lace trim (Jolie’s own), a Club Monaco cashmere cardigan, an Yves Saint Laurent satin tuxedo jacket, a fuchsia Carolina Herrera satin evening dress, and a Michael Kors cashmere sweater.

So don’t forget to pick the Vogue Dec 2010 up!
